What is "off the mat" about?

Hi, 
my name is Fiona. 

I believe that an adaptable, strong mind and body can help us finding more balance, confidence, ease and happiness in our life in every stage.

I’d love to share my passion for smart and safer movement in yoga for a deeper anatomical understanding, strong core connection and better alignment. We don’t aim for more flexibility or a specific yoga pose. It’s more about building stability as well as strength – as a result more mobility and adaptability.

My LYT Yoga® inspired classes tend to be slower paced with a deep focus on body awareness, posture and stability. I offer modifications and love using props like blocks, chairs etc. to provide the most accessibility for every student. And let’s not forget: it’s so much fun! I would be happy to support you to build new movement routines into your daily life.

It’s all about community: The yoga classes in Pembroke (Malta) are only for small groups. As a matter of course, there’s always time for a chat and a tea before and after class.

The classes take place in the comfort of our house. Therefore, space is limited! The classes are only small groups up to 5 people! There is a German online class every Monday! Feel free to join this class!

Mats and props are provided!

A little about me!

Hi again,

as I was born and raised in a small German town close to the Netherlands, I spent most of my life there! I’m happy that my family and I took the courage for change and we can call Malta our home now! 

With a marketing and event management background, I know how it feels to have endless working days with less movement and a grumpy back due to a slouchy office posture. 

As an animal lover, I was a horse girl my whole life. I love having animals around me. That’s why I’m grateful to enjoy life with our beautiful senior dogs. 

But let’s talk about yoga: My yoga journey started more or less in my studies, but I found the deep connection during my pregnancy. With the change of my body, the uprooting from my old life and the new challenges, I inevitably began to question my previous lifestyle and related decisions. Out of this grew the desire to take a new path for myself and with it the step to my personal yoga practice and my first yoga teacher training in 2019. I took further trainings to educate myself in prenatal and postnatal as well as personal yoga. 

Although I practiced yoga almost every day, I suffered from back and shoulder pain for years. I became more interesting in movement patterns, a good posture on and off the mat and the why behind! This led me to LYT YOGA® that helped me break the cycle of disadvantageous movements. As moving in my new routines made me feel so much stronger, more stable and free of pain, I never looked back to my previous way of movement.

As a certified LYT Yoga® teacher (200 hrs), I’m excited to share my passion for yoga and sustainable movement with you in Malta.

Private Yoga Class

Private yoga offer a personalized yoga experience with 1:1 instruction that meet your specific needs, whether it be for stress relief, strength and stability or support an injury rehabilitation. It also allows a more comfortable setting in your home, making it ideal for beginners or those who prefer a more individualized approach to their yoga practice.

I love working with people from all stages of life. In our private training, we focus on posture, strength and mobility. Considering injuries and limitations, we modify the yoga practice to your needs.
